Curricular Enhancements

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori influenced faith formation experience that is three fold: the child (in a small group), the adult catechist, and the prepared environment called the atrium. The atrium is a space carefully created to help allow the teachings, joy, and mystery of God to be explored through concrete material integrating and depicting parables, biblical scenes, and parts of the Mass. CGS supports the curriculum and daily catechetical instruction of our primary grade students.

STEM Learning

A continuity of STEM initiatives and curriculum are implemented in kindergarten through eighth grade. Teaching in these areas includes hands-on learning experiences that build upon instructional content and reinforce student inquisitiveness and Catholic formation.

Outdoor Classroom

Our Outdoor Classroom is used by all grade levels for lessons and activities. The wooded setting of our campus is an ideal place to bring to life STEM/science topics including chicken raising, gardening, and hands-on activities that provide practical instruction in stewardship of creation. Our Outdoor Classroom also includes an actual classroom-style space, which is tucked in the woods and accessible by trail. A final noteworthy piece to our Outdoor Classroom is our Monarch Waystation habitat. This officially registered site supports the generations and flourishing of the monarch butterfly population.
