Quite a day at SGS! National Make a Difference Day began in 1990 under President Bush with a simple idea: "put your own cares on hold for one day to care for someone else." In the morning, we celebrate Make A Difference Day with various grade level service field trips and activities planned on and off campus. After the students return for lunch, the afternoon promises lots of fun and fundraising sponsored by the PTO with our annual Walkathon.
October is the month dedicated to the rosary. The feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is October 7th celebrates the Christian victory at the Battle of Lepanto after Pope Pius V, a Dominican Saint, asked all Catholics to pray the rosary for this intention. Dominicans have a special love for Our Lady and devotion to the Rosary, and celebrate this the first Sunday of each October. Each year SGS students and families join together in early October to pray the rosary as a community. 7:00pm
